The Steede Wins Classic Annalong Horseshoe

Saturday 10th May saw many familiar faces descend on Dunnywater for the classic Annalong Horseshoe. The race started sharp at 11am under murky damp skies, but the weather didn’t seem to phase NI’s fell running elite.

Jonny Steede (Ballymena Runners) lead the pack from the start, closely followed by Seamus Lynch (Newcastle AC), Deon McNeilly (Newcastle AC), Alex Brennan (Ballymena Runners), and Sam Herron (Mourne Runners).

The lower steps of the podium shuffled behind Jonny, with Sam Herron steaming through to take an impressive 2nd place from vet50 winner, and 3rd place overall Deon McNeilly. Alex Brennan also showed well, winning M40 with 4th place overall.

In the ladies race, the reigning champion Diane Wilson (Dromore AC) continued to show her class, leading home Shileen O’Kane (Lagan Valley AC) to keep hold of the coveted ladies trophy.
