BARF Training Update

BARF training runs are back and open to all. If you are interested in running more than just tarmac and want to give mountain and trail running a go, come along on a Thursday night.

In September we are doing some social hilly runs around Belfast (all-around 10km) to get back into the swing of things. We meet at 7 pm.

Please bring a head torch!

9 September – Divis (main Divis car park)
16 September – Belvoir (Belvoir car park beside RSPB)
23 September – Shaw’s Bridge (Shaw’s Bridge car park)
30 September – Redburn (car park beside Holywood Care Home)

Starting in October we will have our Winter training sessions on Thursday evenings. These will run until the start of the Hill & Dale series in April and should leave you ready to race! These will be good training but we also don’t take ourselves too seriously so are also good craic.

These sessions will consist of a social warm-up run together, an easy run together on the route of where we will be doing intervals and then a mix of different types of intervals, focussing mainly on hills and mixed terrain to prepare for racing in the hills. As these intervals will be on loops or short hills everyone can go at their own pace – all are welcome.

The full programme can be seen here – here’s what’s coming up in October:
